recours contre la décision de la Cour d'appel pénale du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud du 28 novembre 2013.
Par décision du 28 novembre 2013, la Cour d'appel pénale du Tribunal cantonal vaudois a déclaré irrecevable la demande de révision formée par A.________ contre le jugement du Tribunal de police de l'arrondissement de Lausanne du 4 décembre 2006 le condamnant à un mois d'emprisonnement avec sursis pendant deux ans pour lésions corporelles simples qualifiées et voies de fait. En bref, la cour cantonale a considéré que le requérant n'avait invoqué aucun fait sérieux susceptible de mettre en cause la condamnation sujette à révision.
A.________ interjette un recours en matière pénale au Tribunal fédéral contre la décision cantonale dont il requiert l'annulation. En vertu de l'art. 42 al. 2 LTF, le recourant doit motiver son recours en exposant succinctement en quoi la décision attaquée viole le droit. En l'occurrence, A.________ ne se détermine aucunement sur les considérations cantonales (cf. consid. 1), de sorte que son recours ne satisfait pas aux exigences de motivation précitées. Il se justifie par conséquent de l'écarter en application de l'art. 108 al. 1 let. b LTF.
Comme les conclusions du recours étaient dépourvues de chances de succès, l'assistance judiciaire ne peut être accordée (art. 64 al. 1 LTF). Le demandeur supportera les frais judiciaires (art. 66 al. 1 LTF).
Le recours est irrecevable.
La demande d'assistance judiciaires est refusée.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 500 francs, sont mis à la charge du recourant.
Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et à la Cour d'appel pénale du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud.

The appeal did not address the cantonal court's reasoning and therefore failed to meet the minimum reasoning requirements.
A federal appeal must briefly explain how the challenged decision violates law. Since the appellant made no submissions on the cantonal grounds, the appeal was inadmissible under Art. 108(1)(b) LTF.
Whether legal aid should be granted
Legal aid was refused because the appeal had no prospects of success.
Under Art. 64(1) LTF, legal aid is excluded when the proceedings are manifestly without chance of success.
Allocation of federal court costs
Court costs of CHF 500 were imposed on the appellant.
Because the appellant had to bear the consequences of the inadmissible appeal, the costs were charged to him under Art. 66(1) LTF.
