Der Präsident zieht in Erwägung:

Der Beschwerdeführer wurde mit Verfügung vom 15. April 2008 und in Anwendung von Art. 62 BGG aufgefordert, dem Bundesgericht spätestens am 6. Mai 2008 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 2'000.-- einzuzahlen. Dem Ansuchen des Beschwerdeführers, den Kostenvorschuss in Raten zu begleichen, gab das Bundesgericht nicht statt. Mit Verfügung vom 5. Mai 2008 wurde dem Beschwerdeführer die in Art. 62 Abs. 3 Satz 2 BGG vorgesehene Nachfrist zur Leistung des Kostenvorschusses bis zum 16. Juni 2008 angesetzt mit der Androhung, ansonsten werde auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten. Da der Kostenvorschuss auch innert der Nachfrist nicht geleistet wurde, ist auf die Beschwerde androhungsgemäss im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).

Demnach erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Verfahrensgericht in Strafsachen des Kantons Basel-Landschaft schriftlich mitgeteilt.
