The appellant withdrew his constitutional complaint against the judgment of the Civil Court of Basel-Stadt. The Federal Supreme Court therefore discontinued the proceedings. It rejected the request to waive costs entirely and imposed a reduced court fee of CHF 150 on the appellant.

A total waiver of court costs is not granted merely because the appellant requests it; however, the court may impose a reduced fee pursuant to the rules on costs and the code of civil procedure by analogy.

in die Verfassungsbeschwerde vom 30. April 2007 gegen das Urteil vom 9. März 2007 des Zivilgerichts Basel-Stadt (Aktenzeichen: FK 2006/93),
in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer die erwähnte Eingabe (nach sein Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wegen Aussichtslosigkeit abweisender Verfügung vom 10. Juli 2007) mit Schreiben vom 18. Juli 2007 zurückgezogen hat, die Beschwerde daher durch das präsidierende Mitglied (Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG) abzuschreiben ist (Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 73 BZP), entgegen dem Antrag des Beschwerdeführers nicht auf eine Kostenerhebung verzichtet werden kann, diesem jedoch eine reduzierte Gerichtsgebühr aufzuerlegen ist (Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 5 Abs. 2 BZP, Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG),
verfügt:

Das Verfahren wird als durch Rückzug der Verfassungsbeschwerde erledigt abgeschrieben.
2.
Die Gerichtsgebühr von Fr. 150.-- wird dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien und dem Zivilgericht des Kantons Basel-Stadt schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the constitutional complaint should be struck off after withdrawal
The proceedings were closed because the constitutional complaint had been withdrawn.
Once the appellant withdrew the filing, the case had to be discontinued under the applicable procedural rules.
Whether court costs should be waived
Costs could not be waived, but a reduced court fee was imposed on the appellant.
The court rejected the request for a complete waiver and applied the rules on reduced fees and court costs.
