Le recours en matière civile exercé par A.________ contre le jugement rendu le 12 mai 2010 par la IIe Cour civile du Tribunal cantonal neuchâtelois dans la cause susmentionnée.
La demande d'assistance judiciaire présentée par le recourant.
L'ordonnance du 30 septembre 2010 par laquelle la Ire Cour de droit civil du Tribunal fédéral a rejeté ladite demande et invité, par ordonnance séparée, le recourant à verser des sûretés d'un montant de 7'000 fr. en garantie des frais judiciaires présumés.
La lettre du 18 octobre 2010 par laquelle le mandataire du recourant déclare retirer le recours.
Considérant:
Qu'il y a lieu de prendre acte du retrait du recours et de rayer la cause du rôle (art. 32 al. 2 LTF).
Que le recourant supportera les frais judiciaires réduits (art. 66 al. 2 et 3 LTF).
Par ces motifs, le Juge présidant ordonne:

La cause est rayée du rôle par suite du retrait du recours.
2.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 500 fr., sont mis à la charge du recourant.
3.
Il n'est pas alloué de dépens aux intimés.
4.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée aux parties et au Tribunal cantonal du canton de Neuchâtel, IIe Cour civile.
