Vincent Augustin appealed to the Federal Supreme Court against a judgment of the Grisons Administrative Court acting as constitutional court in a matter concerning the cantonal NFA and the unity of subject matter. Before the Federal Supreme Court ruled, he withdrew the appeal on 8 March 2010. The single judge therefore struck the case off the docket, waived court costs, and denied party compensation despite the appellant’s withdrawal having been prompted by the referendum result.
Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG; withdrawal of an appeal and procedural consequences: if a remedy is withdrawn, the proceedings are as a rule discontinued without a merits ruling and struck off the docket. Court costs may be waived in the court’s discretion; as a rule, no party compensation is awarded upon withdrawal, absent special circumstances justifying a different allocation. The appellant’s subjective reasons for withdrawal do not in themselves warrant compensation (consid. 1).

Gegenstand

Beschwerde gegen das Urteil vom 9. Oktober 2009 des Verwaltungsgerichts des Kantons Graubünden, 1. Kammer als Verfassungsgericht.
In Erwägung,
dass Vincent Augustin mit Eingabe vom 25. November 2009 Beschwerde gegen das Urteil des Verwaltungsgerichts des Kantons Graubünden vom 9. Oktober 2009 erhoben hat;
dass Vincent Augustin die erwähnte Beschwerde mit Schreiben vom 8. März 2010 zurückgezogen hat;
dass das Beschwerdeverfahren somit als durch Beschwerderückzug erledigt abzuschreiben ist;
dass auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird (Art. 66 Abs. 2 BGG);
dass bei Rückzug eines Rechtsmittels in der Regel keine Parteientschädigung gesprochen wird, woran auch das Ergebnis der Volksabstimmung, die den Beschwerdeführer zum Rückzug der Beschwerde bewogen hat, nichts ändert;
verfügt der Einzelrichter:

Das Verfahren 1C_521/2009 wird infolge Rückzug der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten wird verzichtet.
3.
Es wird keine Parteientschädigung zugesprochen.
4.
Diese Verfügung wird dem Beschwerdeführer sowie dem Grossen Rat, der Regierung und dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Graubünden, 1. Kammer als Verfassungsgericht, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
