dass der Rechtsvertreter des Beschwerdeführers mit Eingabe vom 27. April 2011 die Rechtsverzögerungsbeschwerde zurückgezogen hat;
dass das Beschwerdeverfahren somit als durch Beschwerderückzug erledigt abzuschreiben ist;
dass es sich rechtfertigt, für das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren keine Kosten zu erheben (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
dass die kantonalen Behörden keinen Anspruch auf eine Parteientschädigung haben (Art. 68 Abs. 3 BGG);
verfügt der Instruktionsrichter:

Das Verfahren 1B_168/2011 wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.

Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Es werden keine Parteientschädigungen zugesprochen.
4.
Diese Verfügung wird dem Beschwerdeführer, der Staatsanwaltschaft und dem Appellationsgericht Basel-Stadt schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Yes. The proceedings were discontinued because the complaint was withdrawn.
Once the appellant withdrew the delay complaint, there was no longer a live dispute and the federal proceedings had to be closed as withdrawn.

No court costs were charged in the federal proceedings.
The court considered it appropriate not to levy costs under Art. 66(1) BGG.

No party compensation was awarded to the cantonal authorities.
