2 CAR § 30-101 Temporary accreditation for active duty military, returning military veterans, and spouses {#sec-2-car-30-101 omnilex-key=us-ar-regs-official--title-2-part-30--2 CAR § 30-101}

2 CAR § 30-101. Temporary accreditation for active duty military, returning military veterans, and spouses.

The State Plant Board will issue a temporary permit, license, or certificate for any of the board programs to an individual applying for Arkansas accreditation who:

(1) Holds a substantially equivalent permit, license, or certificate issued by another state who is in good standing with that state; and

(2) Is one (1) of the following:

(A) An active duty military service member stationed in the State of Arkansas;

(B) A returning military veteran applying within one (1) year of his or her discharge from active duty; or

(C) The spouse of a person described by subdivisions (2)(A) or (B) of this section.

2 CAR § 30-102 Expedited licensure, certification, and permitting {#sec-2-car-30-102 omnilex-key=us-ar-regs-official--title-2-part-30--2 CAR § 30-102}

2 CAR § 30-102. Expedited licensure, certification, and permitting.

The State Plant Board shall expedite the licensure, certification, or permitting process for the following individuals:

(1) An active duty military service member stationed in Arkansas;

(2) A returning military veteran applying within one (1) year of his or her discharge from active duty; or

(3) The spouse of a person described by subdivisions (1) and (2) of this section.

2 CAR § 30-103 Consideration of military training and experience in lieu of experience or education {#sec-2-car-30-103 omnilex-key=us-ar-regs-official--title-2-part-30--2 CAR § 30-103}

2 CAR § 30-103. Consideration of military training and experience in lieu of experience or education.

When considering an application for full licensure, certification, or permitting, the State Plant Board shall:

(1) Consider whether or not the applicant’s military training and experience is substantially similar to experience or education required for the applicable permit, certificate, or license; and

(2) Accept the applicant’s military training and experience in lieu of experience or education required for the applicable permit, certificate, or license if the board determines the military training and experience is a satisfactory substitute for the experience or education required for the permit, certificate, or license.

2 CAR § 30-104. License, certificate, or permit expiration.

A license, certificate, or permit issued by the State Plant Board held by an active duty military service member or the spouse of an active duty military service member deployed outside Arkansas shall not expire until one hundred eighty (180) days following the active duty military service member’s or the spouse’s return from active deployment.

2 CAR § 30-105 Continuing education exemption {#sec-2-car-30-105 omnilex-key=us-ar-regs-official--title-2-part-30--2 CAR § 30-105}

2 CAR § 30-105. Continuing education exemption.

(a) The State Plant Board shall allow a full or partial exemption from continuing education requirements for the following individuals:

(1) An active duty military service member deployed outside the State of Arkansas;

(2) A returning military veteran within one (1) year of his or her discharge from active duty; or

(3) The spouse of a person under subdivision (a)(1) or (2) of this section.

(b) The board may require the completion of continuing education before issuing any subsequent renewals.
