The complaint for superintending control is DENIED. Plaintiff has for several years now
asserted that the trial court lacked jurisdiction in this matter. His arguments have been rejected on several
occasions by the trial court, this Court, and also the Supreme Court. Just last year, this Court entered an
order explaining to plaintiff precisely why his jurisdictional claim lacks merit. People v Williams,
unpublished per curiam order of the Court of Appeals, entered July 8, 2025 (Docket No. 375170). This
Court denied plaintiff’s motion for reconsideration of that order, and the Supreme Court denied leave to
appeal. People v Williams, unpublished per curiam order of the Court of Appeals, entered August 13,
2025 (Docket No. 375170); People v Williams, 30 NW3d 99 (Mich, 2026). Nonetheless, plaintiff filed
this original action requesting that this Court issue a writ of superintending control to effectively raise the
same meritless jurisdictional challenge again. Along with the underlying issue being meritless, a
complaint for superintending control cannot be used as a substitute for an appeal. Public Health Dep’t v
Rivergate Manor, 452 Mich 495, 500-501; 550 NW2d 515 (1996). Accordingly, we deny the complaint
for superintending control.
