ORDER
IN RE CONTEMPT OF BRADLEY JAY DORLAND
Docket No. 378205
LC No. 2019-092396-DM
Mark T. Boonstra, Judge, acting under MCR 7.211(E)(2), orders:
The motion for reconsideration of this Court’s order of November 25, 2025 is DENIED.
Appellant’s disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs is not means-tested public
assistance, MCR 2.002(C); and, the general information and attestations provided by appellant did not
show that he is unable to pay fees because of indigence, MCR 2.002(F). Therefore, this Court is not
required to waive appellant’s fees. Moreover, contrary to appellant’s argument, this Court is not required
to hold a hearing on the matter of appellant’s indigency. MCR 2.002(K) permits a court to hold a hearing
but does not mandate that one be held. Appellant shall pay to the Clerk of the Court the entry fee of $375
within 7 days of the Clerk’s certification of this order. Failure to comply with this order will result in
dismissal of the appeal.
