Résumé Omnilex

The appellant challenged a Federal Administrative Court decision concerning disability insurance, claiming among other things that a later medical report had not been considered. The Federal Supreme Court held that the appeal did not satisfy the reasoning requirement of Art. 42 BGG because it failed to engage with the decisive findings of the lower court and raised irrelevant matters. It therefore refused to enter into the appeal in simplified procedure under Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG. Court costs were waived.

Regeste Omnilex

Art. 42 Abs. 1 and 2 BGG; Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG; insufficiently reasoned appeal in simplified procedure. An appeal must set out, in concise form, which parts of the challenged decision are contested and why the decision violates federal law. A filing that merely asserts unrelated grievances or does not address the decisive reasoning is inadmissible. Where the lack of substantiation is manifest, the court may decline to enter into the matter by simplified procedure under Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG. Costs may exceptionally be waived under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG.

Urteil vom 6. Juli 2012
II. sozialrechtliche Abteilung

Besetzung
Bundesrichter U. Meyer, Präsident,
Gerichtsschreiber Traub.

Verfahrensbeteiligte
B.________,
Beschwerdeführer,

gegen

IV-Stelle für Versicherte im Ausland, avenue Edmond-Vaucher 18, 1203 Genf,
Beschwerdegegnerin.

Gegenstand
Invalidenversicherung,

Beschwerde gegen den Entscheid des Bundesverwaltungsgerichts vom 22. Mai 2012.

Mai 2012,
in Erwägung,
