The appellant challenged a cantonal disability-insurance judgment, but the Federal Court held that the appeal did not comply with the statutory duty to give reasons. The submission failed to address the decisive factual findings and evidentiary assessment of the cantonal court, which had explained why it relied on the SMAB expertise of 1 April 2011. As the deficiency was obvious, the court did not enter into the appeal in simplified procedure. No court costs were charged.

The Federal Court bases its review on the facts established by the cantonal court (Art. 105 Abs. 1 BGG) and departs therefrom only under the conditions of Art. 105 Abs. 2 BGG. Where the substantiation defect is manifest, non-entry may be ordered in simplified procedure. Cost waiver may be granted under Art. 66 Abs. 1 second sentence BGG.

Nach Einsicht
in die Beschwerde vom 22. Mai 2012 (Poststempel) gegen den Entscheid des Sozialversicherungsgerichts des Kantons Zürich vom 29. März 2012,

in Erwägung,
dass ein Rechtsmittel gemäss Art. 42 Abs. 1 und 2 BGG unter anderem die Begehren und deren Begründung zu enthalten hat, wobei in der Begründung in gedrängter Form darzulegen ist, inwiefern der angefochtene Akt Recht verletzt; dies setzt voraus, dass sich die Beschwerde führende Person konkret mit den für das Ergebnis des angefochtenen Entscheids massgeblichen Erwägungen auseinandersetzt, eine rein appellatorische Kritik genügt nicht (BGE 136 I 65 E. 1.3.1 S. 68 und 134 II 244 E. 2.1 S. 245 f.),
dass insbesondere die blosse Berufung auf Arztberichte, mit denen sich die Vorinstanz auseinandergesetzt hat, den Anforderungen an eine sachbezogene Begründung nicht genügt (statt vieler: Urteil 8C_299/2011 vom 10. Mai 2011), zumal das Bundesgericht seinem Entscheid den Sachverhalt zugrunde legt, den die Vorinstanz festgestellt hat (Art. 105 Abs. 1 BGG), und es davon nur abweichen kann, wenn eine Sachverhaltsfeststellung offensichtlich unrichtig, mithin willkürlich ist oder auf einer Rechtsverletzung im Sinne von Art. 95 BGG beruht (Art. 105 Abs. 2 BGG),
dass die Beschwerde keine genügende Auseinandersetzung mit der vorinstanzlichen Sachverhaltsfeststellung und Beweiswürdigung enthält, hat doch das kantonale Gericht eingehend begründet, weshalb es auf die Schlussfolgerungen des Gutachtens des SMAB vom 1. April 2011 und nicht auf die Beurteilung anderer Ärzte abstellte,
dass sich der Beschwerdeführer damit nicht rechtsgenüglich auseinandersetzt,
dass dieser Begründungsmangel offensichtlich ist, weshalb auf die Beschwerde im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG nicht einzutreten ist,
dass auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet werden kann (Art. 66 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGG),
erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
