Der Präsident zieht in Erwägung:

Die Tochter der Beschwerdeführer wurde am 8. Februar 2007 Opfer eines Verkehrsunfalls. Die Kommission des Bezirksgerichts Münchwilen sprach den Fahrzeuglenker mit Urteil vom 1. Juni 2010 der fahrlässigen Tötung schuldig und verurteilte ihn zu einer Geldstrafe von 180 Tagessätzen à Fr. 100.--, bedingt aufgeschoben bei einer Probezeit von zwei Jahren, sowie zu einer Busse von Fr. 1'500.-- bzw. einer Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe von 15 Tagen. Die Beschwerdeführer, die eine Verurteilung wegen eventualvorsätzlicher Tötung und ein Fahrverbot anstreben, erhoben Berufung. Das Obergericht des Kantons Thurgau trat mit Urteil vom 13. Juli 2010 auf die Berufung nicht ein, weil sie verspätet zur Post gegeben worden war.
Mit Beschwerde vom 13. August 2010 wenden sich die Beschwerdeführer ans Bundesgericht. Die Beschwerde richtet sich ausdrücklich gegen das Urteil des Bezirksgerichts. Vor Bundesgericht anfechtbar sind indessen nur Strafurteile letzter kantonaler Instanzen (Art. 80 Abs. 1 BGG). Das Urteil des Bezirksgerichts konnte mit Berufung an das Obergericht weitergezogen werden. Folglich kann es vor Bundesgericht nicht angefochten werden.
Den Beschwerdeführern ist nicht geholfen, wenn die Eingabe als Beschwerde gegen das Urteil des Obergerichts entgegengenommen wird. Das Obergericht trat wegen Verspätung auf die Berufung nicht ein. Mit der Frage der Verspätung befassen sich die Beschwerdeführer vor Bundesgericht nicht. Ihre Eingabe erfüllt folglich die minimalen Begründungsanforderungen von Art. 42 Abs. 2 bzw. Art. 106 Abs. 2 BGG nicht.
Auf die Beschwerde ist im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind den Beschwerdeführern je zur Hälfte unter solidarischer Haftung aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Demnach erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden den Beschwerdeführern je zur Hälfte unter solidarischer Haftung auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, der Bezirksgerichtlichen Kommission Münchwilen und dem Obergericht des Kantons Thurgau schriftlich mitgeteilt.
