The Federal Supreme Court did not enter into the criminal complaint because the appellant failed to pay the required CHF 2,000 court advance even after a statutory grace period and warning of non-entry. The filing had been duly served. The court imposed CHF 800 in costs on the appellant.

If the appellant fails to pay the required advance within the set period and also within the statutory grace period after an express warning, the Federal Supreme Court does not enter into the appeal under Art. 108 BGG. The service of the reminder is deemed effected if the party avoids delivery and the notice is subsequently sent by ordinary post in the circumstances described. The unsuccessful party bears the court costs under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG.

Der Einzelrichter zieht in Erwägung:

Der Beschwerdeführer wurde mit Verfügung vom 23. August 2011 aufgefordert, dem Bundesgericht spätestens am 13. September 2011 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 2'000.-- einzuzahlen. Obwohl er die Verfügung in Empfang genommen hatte, reagierte er nicht. Darauf wurde ihm am 16. September 2011 die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Nachfrist bis 7. Oktober 2011 angesetzt, um den Vorschuss zu bezahlen, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde. Nachdem er diese Verfügung auf der Post nicht abgeholt hatte, wurde sie ihm noch mit A-Post zugesandt. Sie gilt als zugestellt. Da der Kostenvorschuss auch innert der Nachfrist nicht einging, ist androhungsgemäss auf die Beschwerde im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Demnach erkennt der Einzelrichter:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten vom Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Bern, Strafabteilung, Beschwerdekammer in Strafsachen, schriftlich mitgeteilt.

No entry could be made because the required advance was not paid within the set deadline, including the grace period.
The appellant received the payment order, did not react, was granted a statutory grace period with a warning of non-entry, and still failed to pay; therefore the appeal was inadmissible under Art. 108 BGG.
Allocation of court costs.
The court costs were imposed on the appellant.
As the unsuccessful party in the non-entry decision, the appellant had to bear the costs under Art. 66(1) BGG.
