The appellant withdrew his criminal appeal by letter of 22 August 2012. The Federal Supreme Court’s single judge therefore struck the appeal from the docket as moot and ordered that no costs be charged. The order was communicated to the parties and to the Zurich High Court, Criminal Chamber.
Withdrawal of the appeal; case becomes moot and is struck from the docket. If the appellant withdraws the appeal, the Federal Supreme Court no longer has a live dispute to decide and will discontinue the proceedings by administrative striking-off. In such a procedural constellation, the court may order that no costs be levied (consid. 1–2).

Es werden keine Kosten erhoben.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, I. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
