Beschwerde gegen das Urteil des Obergerichts des Kantons Glarus vom 3. Dezember 2007.

Der Präsident zieht in Erwägung:

Der Beschwerdeführer wurde mit Verfügung vom 19. März 2008 und in Anwendung von Art. 62 BGG aufgefordert, dem Bundesgericht spätestens am 18. April 2008 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 2'000.-- einzuzahlen. Dem Ansuchen des Beschwerdeführers, den Kostenvorschuss in Raten zu begleichen, gab das Bundesgericht nicht statt. Mit Verfügung vom 9. April 2008 wurde dem Beschwerdeführer die in Art. 62 Abs. 3 Satz 2 BGG vorgesehene Nachfrist bis zum 30. Mai 2008 angesetzt, um den Kostenvorschuss zu bezahlen, ansonsten das Bundesgericht auf die Beschwerde nicht eintrete. Das am 5. Mai 2008 eingereichte Gesuch des Beschwerdeführers um Fristverlängerung bis zum 20. Mai 2008 wurde mit Blick auf die angesetzte Nachfrist bis zum 30. Mai 2008 als gegenstandslos erklärt. Da der Kostenvorschuss auch innert der Nachfrist nicht geleistet wurde, ist auf die Beschwerde androhungsgemäss im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG). Seiner finanziellen Lage ist durch eine herabgesetzte Gerichtsgebühr Rechnung zu tragen (Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG).

Demnach erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Glarus schriftlich mitgeteilt.
