rigetto provvisorio dell'opposizione,

ricorso contro la sentenza emanata il 5 novembre 2013 dalla Camera di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.

Considerando:

che con sentenza 5 novembre 2013 la Camera di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino ha respinto, nella misura della sua ammissibilità, un reclamo presentato da A.________ avverso la decisione 2 settembre 2013 del Pretore del Distretto di Lugano che ha rigettato in via provvisoria la sua opposizione al precetto esecutivo fattogli notificare dall'avv. B.________ per il pagamento di fr. 44'897.18 oltre interessi e spese;
che con " istanza di ricorso " 5 dicembre 2013 A.________ ha impugnato la sentenza 5 novembre 2013 al Tribunale federale;
che con decreto 6 dicembre 2013 il ricorrente è stato invano invitato a versare un anticipo spese di fr. 2'500.--;
che con decreto 15 gennaio 2014 al ricorrente è stato concesso un termine suppletorio di dieci giorni (dalla notifica del decreto) per provvedere al versamento del predetto anticipo spese, con l'avvertenza che in assenza di pagamento entro tale termine il ricorso sarebbe stato dichiarato inammissibile;
che l'atto giudiziario contenente l'appena menzionato decreto è stato notificato al ricorrente il 17 gennaio 2014;
che il 6 febbraio 2014 la Cassa del Tribunale federale ha constatato che il richiesto anticipo spese non è stato pagato né accreditato sul suo conto postale e che non le è pervenuto alcun avviso di addebito di un conto bancario o postale;
che in queste circostanze il Tribunale federale non può entrare nel merito del ricorso (art. 62 cpv. 3 LTF);
che pertanto il ricorso si rivela manifestamente inammissibile e può essere deciso nella procedura semplificata dell'art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. a LTF;
che le spese giudiziarie seguono la soccombenza (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);

per questi motivi, la Giudice presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.

2.

Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 500.-- sono poste a carico del ricorrente.

3.

Comunicazione alle parti e alla Camera di esecuzione e fallimenti del Tribunale d'appello del Cantone Ticino.
