The Swiss Federal Supreme Court dealt with an appeal against a family-law provisional-measures decision of the Cantonal Court of St. Gallen. The appellant sought joinder with another pending appeal and legal aid. The Court refused joinder because the legal issue differed from that in the other case. It then held that the appeal was filed after expiry of the 30-day time limit; the cantonal decision had been served on 28 July 2010 and the appeal was only posted on 14 September 2010. Because court holidays do not apply in such matters, the appeal was manifestly inadmissible. Legal aid was denied for lack of prospects, and court costs of CHF 700 were imposed on the appellant.

An appeal must be filed within 30 days of notification; if handed to the postal service only after expiry of the deadline, it is manifestly inadmissible. For measures within the meaning of Art. 98 BGG, the court holidays under Art. 46 Abs. 1 BGG do not apply by virtue of Art. 46 Abs. 2 BGG. A hopeless appeal does not justify legal aid. Joinder is to be refused where the matters do not concern the same legal question.

in die Gesuche um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege auch für das vorliegende Verfahren und um Vereinigung mit dem Beschwerdeverfahren 5A_559/2010,
in Erwägung,
dass in Anbetracht der Verschiedenheit der im vorliegenden Verfahren zu beurteilenden Rechtsfrage das Gesuch um Verfahrensvereinigung abzuweisen ist,
dass sodann die Beschwerde nach Art. 72 ff. BGG innert 30 Tagen nach der Eröffnung des kantonalen Entscheids beim Bundesgericht einzureichen oder zu dessen Handen der Schweizerischen Post zu übergeben ist (Art. 100 Abs. 1, Art. 48 Abs. 1 BGG),
dass ferner die Gerichtsferien (Art. 46 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG) in Fällen wie dem vorliegenden, wo sich die Beschwerde gegen einen Entscheid betreffend Massnahmen im Sinne von Art. 98 BGG richtet (BGE 133 III 393 E. 5.1 a.E. S. 397), kraft der ausdrücklichen Vorschrift des Art. 46 Abs. 2 BGG nicht gelten (bundesgerichtliche Urteile 5A_177/2007 vom 1. Juni 2007 E. 1.3, 5A_169/2007 vom 21. Juni 2007 E. 3, in: Fampra.ch 2007 S. 953, und 5A_218/2007 vom 7. August 2007 E. 3.2, in: Pra 96/2007 Nr. 138 S. 946),
dass der Entscheid des Kantonsgerichts vom 27. Juli 2010 der Beschwerdeführerin am 28. Juli 2010 eröffnet worden ist,
dass die Beschwerde erst am 14. September 2010 und damit nach Ablauf der Beschwerdefrist der Post übergeben worden ist,
dass sich somit die Beschwerde als verspätet und daher als offensichtlich unzulässig erweist, weshalb darauf im Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG nicht einzutreten ist,
dass der Beschwerdeführerin infolge der Aussichtslosigkeit der verspäteten Beschwerde die unentgeltliche Rechtspflege für das vorliegende Verfahren nicht gewährt werden kann (Art. 64 Abs. 1 BGG),
dass die unterliegende Beschwerdeführerin kostenpflichtig wird (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG),
dass im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 BGG die Abteilungspräsidentin zuständig ist,
erkennt die Präsidentin:

Das Gesuch um Verfahrensvereinigung wird abgewiesen.
2.
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
3.
Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege (einschliesslich Verbeiständung) wird abgewiesen.
4.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 700.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
5.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Kantonsgericht St. Gallen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
