Résumé

The appellant withdrew his civil appeal against a cantonal tutelle decision after the Federal Supreme Court had ordered an advance on costs. The presiding judge took note of the withdrawal, removed the case from the docket, and waived any judicial fee. The order was communicated to the appellant and to the cantonal tutelle chamber.

Art. 73 PCF in connection with Art. 71 LTF and Art. 32 al. 2 LTF; withdrawal of the appeal and striking of the case from the docket. Where the appellant expressly withdraws the appeal, the Federal Supreme Court takes formal note of the withdrawal and removes the matter from the docket. In such circumstances, it may waive the collection of a judicial fee (consid. 1).

le recours en matière civile du 28 août 2008;
l'ordonnance présidentielle du 1er septembre 2008, invitant le recourant à verser une avance de frais de 700 fr. dans les 10 jours;
le courrier du recourant du 8 septembre 2008, aux termes duquel il « annule [son] recours », à « considérer comme nul », et demande qu'il soit renoncé à des frais;

considérant:
qu'il convient de prendre acte de ce retrait et de rayer la cause du rôle (art. 73 PCF par renvoi de l'art. 71 LTF; art. 32 al. 2 LTF);
qu'il peut être renoncé en l'espèce à la perception d'un émolument judiciaire;

par ces motifs, la Juge présidant la IIe Cour de droit civil ordonne:

Il est pris acte du retrait du recours et la cause est rayée du rôle.

2.
Il n'est pas perçu d'émolument judiciaire.

3.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée au recourant et à la Chambre des tutelles du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud.
