If the submission is instead treated as a subsidiary constitutional complaint, it must specify the allegedly violated constitutional rights and argue them by reference to the reasoning of the challenged decision. A merely appellative or unspecified grievance is insufficient and leads to non-entry. In such a case, court costs may be waived under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG; a pending legal-aid request then becomes moot.

In Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdegegner am 21. August 2008 beim Zivilgericht Basel-Stadt gegen die Beschwerdeführerin Klage einreichte mit dem Begehren, es sei die Beschwerdeführerin zur Zahlung von Fr. 1'900.-- zuzüglich Fr. 95.80 für die Kosten des Zahlungsbefehls Nr. xxx vom 30. April 2008 des Betreibungsamtes Basel-Stadt zu verurteilen und es sei der Rechtsvorschlag in dieser Betreibung im genannten Umfang zu beseitigen;
dass das Zivilgericht Basel-Stadt mit Urteil vom 28. Oktober 2008 die Klage teilweise guthiess, die Beschwerdeführerin verurteilte, dem Beschwerdegegner Fr. 1'512.80 sowie Fr. 95.-- zu bezahlen, und den Rechtsvorschlag im genannten Umfang beseitigte;
dass das Appellationsgericht des Kantons Basel-Stadt die von der Beschwerdeführerin gegen dieses Urteil erhobene Beschwerde mit Urteil vom 12. März 2009 abwies;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin am 30. März 2009 dem Bundesgericht eine Beschwerde in Zivilsachen, ev. eine subsidiäre Verfassungsbeschwerde einreichte mit dem Begehren, der Rechtsvorschlag sei wieder herzustellen oder alternativ der dem Beschwerdegegner zugesprochene Betrag auf Fr. 454.15 festzusetzen, unter Abzug der bereits bezahlten Fr. 399.--;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin dem Bundesgericht weiter beantragt, ihr für das Verfahren vor Bundesgericht die unentgeltliche Rechtspflege zu bewilligen;
dass die Beschwerde in Zivilsachen nach Art. 72 ff. BGG angesichts der Höhe der streitigen Forderung von weniger als Fr. 30'000.-- unzulässig ist (Art. 74 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG), und die Beschwerdeführerin auch nicht in einer den Begründungsanforderungen gemäss Art. 42 Abs. 2 BGG genügenden Weise darlegt, dass diese Beschwerde dennoch zulässig ist, weil sich eine Rechtsfrage von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung im Sinne von Art. 74 Abs. 2 lit. a BGG stellen würde;
dass die Eingabe der Beschwerdeführerin unter diesen Umständen als subsidiäre Verfassungsbeschwerde im Sinne der Art. 113 ff. BGG zu behandeln ist;
dass in einer solchen Beschwerde dargelegt werden muss, welche verfassungsrechtlichen Grundrechte durch das kantonale Gericht verletzt worden sind, und solche Rügen unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheids zu begründen sind (Art. 42 Abs. 2 und Art. 106 Abs. 2 in Verbindung mit Art. 117 BGG);
dass die Eingabe der Beschwerdeführerin vom 30. März 2009 diesen Begründungsanforderungen offensichtlich nicht genügt, weshalb auf die Beschwerde mangels hinreichender Begründung nicht einzutreten ist (Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG);
dass unter den gegebenen Umständen auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten zu verzichten ist (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
dass sich das Gesuch der Beschwerdeführerin um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege für das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren damit als gegenstandslos erweist;
erkennt die Präsidentin:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wird als gegenstandslos geworden abgeschrieben.
4.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Appellationsgericht des Kantons Basel-Stadt, Ausschuss, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
