Pennsylvania Act 1997-31 — BARRY A. KING, MIFFLIN-SOUTH CENTRE VETERANS AND VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS MEMORIAL BRIDGES - DESIGNATION

AN ACT

Designating a certain bridge on SR 0011 over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River connecting Point Township, Northumberland County, and Monroe Township, Snyder County, as the Barry A. King Memorial Bridge; designating a certain bridge on SR 2028 in Mifflin Township and South Centre Township, Columbia County, as the Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge; designating a certain bridge in the Borough of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge; and transferring roads between Oxford Township, Adams County, and the Department of Transportation.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. Barry A. King Memorial Bridge.

(a) The bridge over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River which carries SR 0011 from Point Township, Northumberland County, to Monroe Township, Snyder County, is hereby designated and shall be known as the Barry A. King Memorial Bridge.

(b) The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain signs which shall display the name of Barry A. King Memorial Bridge at each end of the bridge so designated in subsection (a).

Section 2. Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge.

(a) The bridge located on SR 2028 at Station 17+27.1 in Mifflin Township and at Station 34+17.96 in South Centre Township, Columbia County, is hereby designated and shall be known as the Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge.

(b) The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain signs which shall display the name of the Mifflin-South Centre Veterans Memorial Bridge so designated in subsection (a).

Section 3. Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge.

(a) The bridge carrying Winola Road (SR 4024) over railroad tracks, situated in the Borough of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, shall hereafter be known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Bridge.

(b) The Department of Transportation shall erect appropriate signs to indicate this designation.

Section 4. Road adopted.

The following road is hereby adopted as a State highway: Appler Road (T-500), approximately 1,600 feet, in Oxford Township, Adams County.

Section 5. Road vacated.

The following road is hereby vacated as a State roadway and transferred to Oxford Township, Adams County: Hanover Road (SR 1015), Segment 10, Offset 022050, from intersection with SR 94 to intersection with T-500.

Section 6. Effective date.

This act shall take effect immediately.
