Court of Appeals, State of Michigan
ORDER
DAVID H AHONEN & RUTH C AHONEN TRUST V JULIE THOMSEN
Docket No. 379255
LC No. 2024-000809-CZ
Stephen L. Borrello, Chief Judge Pro Tem, acting under MCR 7.203(F)(1), orders:
The “fee waiver request” is treated as a motion to waive fees and is GRANTED for this
appeal only.
The claim of appeal is DISMISSED for lack of jurisdiction because the January 8, 2026
postjudgment order, which was entered in a civil action filed in probate court, is not a final order under
any of the definitions in MCR 7.202(6)(a). Therefore, the order is not appealable by right. MCR
5.801(A)(1). Dismissal is without prejudice to appellant filing an application for leave to appeal, provided
the filing meets all requirements under the court rules and is not time-barred.
