Court of Appeals, State of Michigan
ORDER
DOUGLAS CROZIER V CINDA JO SHUMAKER
Docket No. 378036
LC No. 24-013660-CZ
Brock A. Swartzle, Judge, acting under MCR 7.211(E)(2), orders:
The motion to file an appellant’s brief exceeding 16,000 words is DENIED for failure to
demonstrate extraordinary and compelling reasons requiring the excess length. The brief that was received
with this motion is not accepted for filing. A conforming appellant’s brief, i.e., an appellant’s brief of
16,000 or less countable words, shall be filed within 21 days after the date of this order and will be
docketed as timely filed if so filed. Failure to file a conforming appellant’s brief within that time period
will result in this case being placed on the involuntary dismissal docket. The filing of a motion to extend
time for filing a conforming appellant’s brief will not preclude this case from being placed on the
involuntary dismissal docket if a conforming appellant’s brief is not filed within 21 days after the date of
this order.
