Michael F. Gadola, Chief Judge, acting under MCR 7.211(E)(2), orders:
The motion to withdraw as appellant’s counsel is GRANTED TO THE EXTENT that Scott
A. Grabel (P53310), Timothy Doman (P77811), and the Grabel & Associates law firm are WITHDRAWN
as counsel for defendant-appellant in this appeal. Upon entry of this order the Clerk’s Office shall update
this Court’s records for this file to show defendant-appellant as a self-represented party unless and until
an attorney appears for him in this appeal. The Court notes that, if defendant-appellant believes he may
qualify for appointed appellate counsel based on indigency, and wishes to request such appointed counsel,
he should submit a written request for appointment of appellate counsel to the trial court because it retains
authority to appoint appellate counsel for an indigent person throughout the pendency of an appeal without
a need for a remand from this Court. See MCR 7.208(H).
Further, on the Court’s own motion, the time for filing appellant’s brief is EXTENDED
until 56 days after the date of this order.
The Clerk’s Office shall mail a copy of this order to defendant-appellant personally.
