Attorney Malita Barrett (P 43238) filed a nonconforming brief that was struck by the Court
in Docket No. 375819. Despite being ordered to file a new brief, she has failed to do so. In addition,
Attorney Barrett has a history of failing to timely file briefs or motions to extend. In addition to Docket
No. 375819, five additional cases are currently eligible for involuntary dismissal for failing to file the
brief. See Docket Nos. 378699, 379403, 378455, 379688, and 379807.
On the Court’s own motion, Attorney Barrett is ordered, within 14 days of the certification
of this order, to SHOW CAUSE in writing as to why she failed to timely file adequate briefs in the above-
referenced cases. The panel retains jurisdiction to enforce this order and order any related sanctions or
corrective action.
A copy of this order shall be sent to Wayne County Circuit Court Chief Judge, and Robin
Clear, the Program Coordinator with the State Court Administrative Office.
