On May 5, 2026, the Court heard oral argument in this matter. On the Court’s own motion
pursuant to MCR 7.216(A)(7) and (A)(9), we DIRECT the parties to file supplemental briefs regarding
the content of the November 2024 ballot measure to renew the operating tax for the School District of the
City of Detroit. The supplemental briefs shall be no more than 10 pages in length and shall be filed within
7 days of the date of this order. Each party may also file a responsive brief, limited to 5 pages, within 7
days of service of the opposing party’s supplemental brief.
