On the Court’s own motion, defendant is directed to file a supplemental brief, not to exceed
3,200 words, addressing People v Sykes, ___ Mich App ___ (June 17, 2026) (Docket No. 367133), and
People v Eads, ___ Mich ___ (July 30, 2026) (Docket No. 168205). The brief should address whether
this Court is bound by Sykes notwithstanding Eads. The supplemental brief shall be filed within 14 days
of the date this order is entered. A responsive brief, also not to exceed 3,200 words, may be filed within
7 days of service of the supplemental brief.
