On November 13, 2025, this Court entered an order directing the prosecutor to file an
answer to defendant’s application within 21 days. The prosecutor failed to file an answer as ordered.
On the Court’s own motion, the prosecutor of Arenac County shall, within 14 days of the
Clerk’s Certification of this order, show cause in writing as to why the prosecutor failed to file an answer
in compliance with this Court’s order and why the prosecutor should not be held in contempt. If the
prosecutor fails to show cause in writing within 14 days, this Court may enter an order requiring the
prosecutor to appear in person for a hearing and the imposition of sanctions.
