PETITIONING THE COURT
To issue a warrant.
On January 29, 2024, a United States Probation Officer reviewed all the conditions of supervised release with Ms.
Sanchez, which she acknowledged a full understanding. The defendant was referred to Merit Resource Services
(Merit) for substance abuse treatment services and drug testing. She was also referred to Riverview Counseling and
Consulting for mental health services.
The probation officer believes that the offender has violated the following condition(s) of supervision:
Violation NumberNature of Noncompliance
1
Standard Condition # 2: After initially reporting to the probation office, you will receive
instructions from the court or the probation officer about how and when you must report to

Balles was able to make telephonic contact with Ms. Sanchez and at that time, Ms. Sanchez
indicated the reason she did not report was because she had been “busy.”
2
Special Condition # 6: You must abstain from the use of illegal controlled substances, and
must submit to urinalysis and sweat patch testing, as directed by the supervising officer, but
no more than 6 tests per month, in order to confirm continued abstinence from these
substances.
Supporting Evidence: Ms. Sanchez is considered to be in violation of supervised release
by failing to provide a valid urinalysis by providing a dilute sample on or about July 2, 2024.
On July 2, 2024, Ms. Sanchez reported to the probation office as instructed. During this
office visit, Ms. Sanchez was instructed to complete a drug test. The sample was very clear
and appeared to be diluted. Therefore, this drug test was sent to Abbott Laboratory for
confirmation. The probation office later received the drug test report confirming a dilute
sample. Ms. Sanchez failed to provide a valid sample for drug testing.
It should be noted, U.S. Probation Officer Balles previously gave the defendant a verbal
warning on June 13, 2024, for providing an invalid drug test after she provided a dilute
sample for drug testing as confirmed by Abbott Laboratory for a drug test previously
completed on May 29, 2024.

Special Condition # 5: You must not enter into or remain in any establishment where
alcohol is the primary item of sale. You must abstain from alcohol and must submit to
urinalysis and Breathalyzer testing as directed by the supervising officer, but no more than
6 tests per month, in order to confirm continued abstinence from this substance.
Supporting Evidence: Ms. Sanchez is considered to be in violation of her term of
supervised release by consuming alcohol on or about July 17, 2024.
On July 31, 2024, the substance abuse counselor at Merit informed the undersigned officer
Ms. Sanchez completed a drug test on July 17, 2024, which was positive for alcohol. Ms.
Sanchez denied alcohol use and the reason she provided for this positive result was she had
been sick and used Nyquil.
4
Special Condition # 6: You must abstain from the use of illegal controlled substances, and
must submit to urinalysis and sweat patch testing, as directed by the supervising officer, but
no more than 6 tests per month, in order to confirm continued abstinence from these
substances.
Supporting Evidence: Ms. Sanchez is considered to be in violation of her term of
supervised release by failing to report for drug testing as instructed on or about July 29,
2024.
Ms. Sanchez had been previously referred to Merit to participate on the color line program
for random drug testing as required. She had been instructed to call the color line daily,
Monday through Friday, and to report to Merit when her assigned color was called for drug
testing.
Merit reported Ms. Sanchez failed to report for drug testing when her assigned color was
called on July 29, 2024.
