Zusammenfassung

The Federal Supreme Court noted that the IV office withdrew its administrative law appeal against the Basel-Stadt Social Insurance Court judgment. The appeal was therefore removed from the docket. The Court ordered the appellant to bear federal court costs of CHF 200, to be offset against its CHF 500 cost advance, and ordered a refund of the CHF 300 balance. It also awarded the respondent CHF 500 in party compensation, including VAT, for the federal proceedings.

Withdrawal of an appeal; procedural consequence and costs. Where the appellant withdraws the appeal, the proceedings are discontinued and the matter is removed from the docket without a merits decision. As a rule, the withdrawing appellant bears the court costs and, where appropriate, must compensate the respondent for the federal proceedings; the amount may be set off against the cost advance and any surplus refunded (consid. 1-3).

Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde gegen den Entscheid des Sozialversicherungsgerichts Basel-Stadt vom 20. Juli 2006.

Nachdem die Beschwerdeführerin die Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde vom 15. September 2006 gegen den Entscheid des Sozialversicherungsgerichts Basel-Stadt vom 20. Juli 2006 mit Schreiben vom 15. März 2007 zurückgezogen hat,
beschliesst das Bundesgericht:
1.
Die Verwaltungsgerichtsbeschwerde wird als durch Rückzug erledigt vom Geschäftsverzeichnis abgeschrieben.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 200.- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt. Sie sind durch den geleisteten Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 500.- gedeckt; der Differenzbetrag von Fr. 300.- wird zurückerstattet.
3.
Die IV-Stelle Basel-Stadt hat dem Beschwerdegegner für das Verfahren vor dem Bundesgericht eine Parteientschädigung von Fr. 500.- (einschliesslich Mehrwertsteuer) zu bezahlen.
4.
Dieser Entscheid wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht Basel-Stadt und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen zugestellt.
