Visto:
il ricorso del 10 settembre 2011 (timbro postale) avverso la decisione di inammissibilità del Tribunale amministrativo federale, Corte III, del 28 luglio 2011,

considerando:
che giusta l'art. 42 cpv. 1 LTF il ricorso deve tra l'altro contenere delle conclusioni e la loro motivazione,
che per l'art. 42 cpv. 2 LTF nei motivi occorre spiegare in modo conciso perché l'atto impugnato viola il diritto,
che, pur non dovendo essere necessariamente corretta, la motivazione deve in ogni modo essere riferita al tema della causa (DTF 123 V 335),
che un gravame contenente censure di merito avverso un giudizio d'inammissibilità non soddisfa la predetta esigenza di una motivazione riferita allo specifico oggetto del litigio (DTF 123 V 335; 118 Ib 134),
che il ricorrente - nel suo atto pervenuto a questa Corte il 16 settembre 2011 - non si confronta minimamente con i motivi che hanno indotto l'istanza precedente a ritenere inammissibile, per gravi carenze formali (presentazione via fax del ricorso, mancanza di valida firma, di chiare conclusioni e di una sufficiente motivazione), il suo gravame,
che in mancanza di una argomentazione topica che risponda alle motivazioni del giudizio impugnato, il ricorso di M.________ non può essere ritenuto ricevibile,
che giusta l'art. 108 cpv. 1 LTF, il presidente della Corte decide in procedura semplificata di non entrare in materia su ricorsi manifestamente non motivati in modo sufficiente (lett. b),
che viste le circostanze del caso, si può rinunciare a prelevare spese giudiziarie (art. 66 cpv. 1 in fine LTF),

per questi motivi, il Presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.

2.
Non si prelevano spese giudiziarie.

3.
Comunicazione alle parti, al Tribunale amministrativo federale,
Corte III, e all'Ufficio federale delle assicurazioni sociali.
