The complainant withdrew his criminal complaint shortly before the Federal Supreme Court was to finish its review. The Criminal Division therefore struck the matter from the docket as moot. Because the withdrawal came late in the proceedings, the complainant was nevertheless ordered to pay reduced court costs of CHF 600.
Withdrawal of a complaint pending before the Federal Supreme Court renders the proceedings moot and leads to striking the case from the docket; if the withdrawal occurs only shortly before the conclusion of the proceedings, court costs may still be imposed on the withdrawing party, albeit in reduced amount.

Erwägungen:
Die am 28. Oktober 2010 eingereichte Beschwerde wurde mit Schreiben vom 21. Januar 2011 zurückgezogen. Der Rückzug erfolgte erst, als das Verfahren vor Bundesgericht bereits kurz vor seinem Abschluss stand. Deshalb ist eine reduzierte Gerichtsgebühr zu erheben.
Demnach verfügt der Instruktionsrichter:
1.
Die Beschwerde in Strafsachen wird als gegenstandslos geworden vom Geschäftsverzeichnis abgeschrieben.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 600.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zug, Justizkommission, Strafrechtliche Kammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the criminal complaint should be struck from the docket after withdrawal
The complaint became moot and was struck from the docket.
Because the complaint was withdrawn, the proceedings could no longer be continued on the merits; the late withdrawal did not prevent dismissal from the register, but it justified only a reduced court fee.
Allocation of court costs after late withdrawal of the complaint
Court costs of CHF 600 were imposed on the complainant.
Since the withdrawal occurred only shortly before completion of the federal proceedings, a reduced court fee was appropriate, but costs still had to be borne by the withdrawing complainant.
