Considérant en fait et en droit:

X.________ recourt au Tribunal fédéral contre un arrêt de la Chambre pénale de la Cour de justice du canton de Genève du 14 avril 2008, qui confirme la substitution d'une peine de dix-sept jours de privation de liberté à diverses amendes qu'elle n'a pas payées.

Le 16 juin 2008, la recourante s'est vu impartir un délai au 7 juillet 2008 pour avancer les frais présumés de la procédure, estimés à 2'000 francs. Elle ne s'est pas exécutée.

Par ordonnance du 17 juillet 2008, un délai supplémentaire au 18 août 2008 lui a été imparti en application de l'art. 62 al. 3 LTF, avec l'indication qu'à défaut de paiement en temps utile, le recours serait irrecevable. La recourante ne s'est toujours pas exécutée. Son recours doit dès lors être déclaré irrecevable (art. 62 al. 3 et 108 al. 1 let. a LTF).

L'arrêt peut être rendu exceptionnellement sans frais.

Par ces motifs, le Président prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.

Il n'est pas prélevé de frais judiciaires.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et à la Cour de justice du canton de Genève, Chambre pénale.
