Considérant en fait et en droit:

Par annonce du 5 décembre 2011, X.________ a déclaré faire appel à l'encontre du jugement rendu le 17 novembre 2011 par le Tribunal d'application des peines et des mesures de la République et canton de Genève. Statuant par arrêt du 15 juin 2012, la Chambre pénale d'appel et de révision de la Cour de justice genevoise a constaté que X.________ avait omis de déposer un mémoire d'appel écrit et, conformément à l'art. 407 al. 1 let. b CPP, elle a pris acte du retrait de l'appel précité.

X.________ interjette un recours en matière pénale à l'encontre de l'arrêt cantonal. Selon l'art. 42 al. 1 et 2 LTF, le recourant doit motiver son recours en exposant succinctement en quoi la décision attaquée viole le droit. Dans le présent recours, X.________ se borne à réclamer la restitution du téléphone portable qui lui a été saisi à la suite de poursuites pénales, sans pour autant démontrer en quoi l'arrêt cantonal attaqué violerait le droit en considérant son appel comme retiré. Faute de satisfaire aux exigences de motivation, le recours doit être écarté en application de l'art. 108 al. 1 let. b LTF.

Exceptionnellement, le présent arrêt est rendu sans frais (art. 66 al. 1 LTF).
Par ces motifs, le Président prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et à la Cour de justice du canton de Genève, Chambre pénale d'appel et de révision.
