The Federal Supreme Court considered a state constitutional complaint in a matrimonial protection case against a Zurich cassation decision. Because the cantonal decision had been received on 10 July 2006 and the complaint was only filed on 28 October 2007, the 30-day deadline under the former OG was missed by a wide margin. The complainant’s objection that the cantonal decision lacked a legal-remedy notice was rejected. The court therefore did not enter into the complaint and imposed court costs of CHF 500 on the complainant.

Where the remedy is manifestly late, the Federal Supreme Court does not enter into the matter; the unsuccessful complainant bears the costs under Art. 156 Abs. 1 OG (consid. 2).

Das Bundesgericht hat nach Einsicht
in die als staatsrechtliche Beschwerde entgegengenommene Eingabe gegen den Zirkulationsbeschluss vom 30. Juni 2006 des Zürcher Kassationsgerichts,
in den - das Gesuch des Beschwerdeführers um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wegen Aussichtslosigkeit abweisenden - Beschluss des Bundesgerichts vom 4. Dezember 2007,
in die Bestätigung der Bundesgerichtskasse, wonach der Kostenvorschuss fristgerecht bezahlt worden ist,
in Erwägung,
dass der angefochtene Beschluss des Kassationsgerichts vor dem Inkrafttreten des Bundesgesetzes vom 17. Juni 2005 über das Bundesgericht (BGG) am 1. Januar 2007 ergangen ist, weshalb auf das vorliegende Verfahren das alte Recht (Bundesgesetz über die Organisation der Bundesrechtspflege vom 16. Dezember 1943, nachstehend: OG) Anwendung findet (Art. 132 Abs. 1 BGG) und die Eingabe des Beschwerdeführers als staatsrechtliche Beschwerde entgegengenommen worden ist,
dass gemäss Art. 89 Abs. 1 OG staatsrechtliche Beschwerden binnen 30 Tagen seit der Eröffnung des kantonalen Entscheids dem Bundesgericht einzureichen sind,
dass im vorliegenden Fall der Beschwerdeführer den angefochtenen Beschluss des Zürcher Kassationsgerichts vom 30. Juni 2006 am 10. Juli 2006 in Empfang genommen hat,
dass deshalb die erst am 28. Oktober 2007 bei der Post zu Handen des Bundesgerichts aufgegebene Beschwerde offensichtlich verspätet ist,
dass entgegen der Auffassung des Beschwerdeführers die fehlende Rechtsmittelbelehrung des Kassationsgerichts nicht zu beanstanden ist, weil dieses - unter Vorbehalt von (durch den Beschwerdeführer nicht angerufenen) Vorschriften des kantonalen Rechts - nicht verpflichtet war, den Beschwerdeführer auf das ausserordentliche Rechtsmittel der staatsrechtlichen Beschwerde hinzuweisen (BGE 98 Ib 333 E. 2a S. 339),
dass somit auf die staatsrechtliche Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist,
dass der unterliegende Beschwerdeführer kostenpflichtig wird (Art. 156 Abs. 1 OG),
im Verfahren nach Art. 36a OG erkannt:

Auf die staatsrechtliche Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtsgebühr von Fr. 500.-- wird dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Kassationsgericht des Kantons Zürich schriftlich mitgeteilt.
