A manifestly inadmissible appeal lacks prospects of success and does not justify legal aid. In such a case, the simplified procedure under Art. 108 al. 1 let. a and b LTF applies, and costs are allocated to the appellant.

recours contre l'ordonnance de la Cour de justice du canton de Genève, autorité de surveillance des Offices des poursuites et faillites, du 23 juillet 2012.
Considérant:
que, par ordonnance du 23 juillet 2012, la Cour du justice du canton de Genève a imparti à la recourante un délai de dix jours pour effectuer une avance de frais de 3'000 fr. destinée à couvrir les frais de la nouvelle expertise qu'elle a requise pour l'estimation du gage immobilier dans le cadre d'une procédure en réalisation de gage, a désigné un expert et a imparti à la recourante un délai de cinq jours pour faire valoir d'éventuels motifs de récusation;
que, le 26 juillet 2012, A.________ interjette un recours au Tribunal fédéral contre cette ordonnance, requérant en outre le bénéfice de l'assistance judiciaire;
que, en tant que la recourante invoque des griefs à l'encontre de commandements de payer qui n'ont pas fait l'objet de l'ordonnance entreprise, son recours est d'emblée irrecevable faute d'épuisement des instances cantonales (art. 75 al. 1 LTF);
que, en ce qui concerne les frais d'expertise, la recourante ne s'en prend pas, dans ses écritures, aux motifs de l'ordonnance entreprise;
qu'une telle argumentation est manifestement insuffisante au regard des exigences légales en la matière (art. 42 al. 2 et 106 al. 2 LTF; ATF 133 IV 286 consid. 1.4);
que, manifestement irrecevable, le présent recours doit être traité selon la procédure simplifiée prévue à l'art. 108 al. 1 let. a et b LTF;
que la demande d'assistance judiciaire doit être rejetée faute de chances de succès (art. 64 al. 1 LTF) et les frais de la présente procédure doivent être mis à la charge de la recourante (art. 66 al. 1 LTF);
par ces motifs, la Présidente prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.
2.
La requête d'assistance judiciaire est rejetée.
3.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 300 fr., sont mis à la charge de la recourante.
4.
Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties, à l'Office des poursuites de Genève et à la Cour de justice du canton de Genève, autorité de surveillance des Offices des poursuites et faillites.
