la demande de révision formée par X.________ le 24 septembre 2012 contre l'arrêt du Tribunal fédéral 4A_737/2011 du 2 mai 2012 dans la cause précitée;
la lettre du 10 octobre 2012 par laquelle le mandataire du requérant déclare retirer la demande de révision;
considérant:
qu'il y a lieu de prendre acte du retrait de la demande et de rayer la cause du rôle (art. 32 al. 2 LTF);
que le requérant supporte les frais judiciaires réduits (art. 66 al. 2 LTF);
par ces motifs, la Présidente ordonne:

La cause est rayée du rôle par suite de retrait de la demande de révision.
2.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 300 fr., sont mis à la charge du requérant.
3.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée aux parties et à la Cour de justice du canton de Genève, Chambre civile.
