ricorso contro la sentenza emanata il 7 novembre 2012 dal Tribunale delle assicurazioni del Cantone Ticino.

Considerando:

che con sentenza 7 novembre 2012 il Tribunale delle assicurazioni del Cantone Ticino ha respinto la petizione con cui A.________ aveva convenuto in giudizio la B.________ SA al fine di ottenere la continuazione del versamento delle indennità giornaliere da questa corrisposte fino al 30 giugno 2011;
che A.________ ha impugnato al Tribunale federale la sentenza cantonale con ricorso 11 dicembre 2012, postulando altresì di essere posto al beneficio dell'assistenza giudiziaria;
che con decreto del 17 giugno 2013 la I Corte di diritto civile ha respinto la domanda di assistenza giudiziaria per carenza di possibilità di esito favorevole del ricorso e ha invitato il ricorrente a fornire entro l'8 luglio 2013 un anticipo per le spese presunte del processo di fr. 3'000.--;
che il 17 luglio 2013 è stato impartito al ricorrente il termine suppletorio dell'art. 62 cpv. 3 LTF per provvedere al predetto pagamento entro il 2 agosto 2013;
che il 22 luglio 2013 A.________ ha rinnovato la richiesta di "gratuito patrocinio e sospensione spese giudiziarie", asseverando l'assenza di risorse economiche e la fondatezza del suo gravame;
che come già indicato nel decreto del 17 giugno 2013 sulla domanda di assistenza giudiziaria, l'indigenza dell'istante è unicamente uno dei due presupposti per accogliere tale richiesta;
che l'assenza della seconda condizione, attinente alle possibilità di esito favorevole del ricorso, è stata stabilita nel predetto decreto e nello scritto del 22 luglio 2013 il ricorrente non ha sollevato alcun argomento idoneo a giustificare l'apertura di una procedura di revisione o riesame di tale decisione;
che il 12 agosto 2013 la Cassa del Tribunale federale ha costatato che il richiesto anticipo spese non è stato pagato né accreditato sul suo conto postale e che non le è pervenuto alcun avviso di addebito di un conto bancario o postale;
che in queste circostanze il Tribunale federale non può entrare nel merito del ricorso (art. 48 cpv. 4 e 62 cpv. 3 LTF);
che pertanto il ricorso si rivela manifestamente inammissibile e va deciso dalla Presidente della Corte adita nella procedura semplificata (art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. a LTF);
che le spese giudiziarie seguono la soccombenza (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);

per questi motivi, la Presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.

2.

Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 500.-- sono poste a carico del ricorrente.

3.

Comunicazione alle parti e al Tribunale delle assicurazioni del Cantone Ticino.
