Zusammenfassung

The appellant withdrew his constitutional voting-rights complaint concerning an initiative request and counterproposal. The Federal Supreme Court therefore discontinued the proceedings without examining the merits and struck the appeal from the docket. In line with Art. 66(1) BGG, the court charged the federal court costs of CHF 300 to the appellant. The order was communicated to the appellant, the Municipality of Lachen, and the Schwyz Administrative Court.

Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG; withdrawal of appeal and allocation of costs: when an appeal is withdrawn, the proceedings are concluded without a merits determination and the case is struck from the docket. In such circumstances, the court costs are as a rule borne by the withdrawing appellant according to the outcome of the proceedings (consid. 1).

In Erwägung,
dass A.________ seine am 7. April 2014 betreffend Initiativbegehren und Gegenvorschlag erhobene Beschwerde mit Schreiben vom 30. Mai 2014 zurückgezogen hat;
dass die bundesgerichtlichen Kosten dem Ausgang des Verfahrens entsprechend dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);

wird verfügt:

Die Beschwerde im Verfahren 1C_194/2014 wird als durch Rückzug erledigt abgeschrieben.

2.

Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 300.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.

Diese Verfügung wird dem Beschwerdeführer, der Gemeinde Lachen und dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Schwyz, Kammer III, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
