The Federal Supreme Court held that the cantonal president’s letter giving the appellant five days to correct offensive language in his appeal brief was, at most, an incidental procedural measure that did not cause irreparable harm and was therefore not immediately challengeable. In light of earlier identical inadmissibility rulings involving the same appellant, the Court treated the present appeal as abusive and dealt with it under the simplified procedure. The appeal was declared inadmissible, and court costs of CHF 300 were imposed on the appellant.
Art. 93 al. 1 let. a LTF; admissibility of an appeal against an order inviting correction of an offensive pleading. An order requiring the party to amend an inconvenant or excessive submission is, if it can be qualified as a decision at all, merely incidental and does not in itself cause irreparable legal prejudice. Such a measure is therefore not immediately appealable to the Federal Supreme Court. Repetitive appeals against identical procedural invitations may be dismissed summarily as abusive under Art. 108 al. 1 let. c LTF; the unsuccessful appellant bears the costs under Arts. 65 and 66 LTF.

Considérant :
Par ordonnance du 15 septembre 2011, l'Office régional du Ministère public du Bas-Valais a refusé d'entrer en matière sur la plainte pénale déposée le 2 août 2011 par A.________ contre B.________, doctoresse à l'Hôpital de X.________, pour avoir ordonné arbitrairement son placement à des fins d'assistance dans cet établissement.
Par acte du 29 septembre 2011, A.________ a recouru contre cette décision auprès de la Chambre pénale du Tribunal cantonal du canton du Valais. Tenant certaines expressions utilisées dans cette écriture pour outrancières et inconvenantes, le président de cette juridiction lui a, par courrier du 30 septembre 2011, imparti un délai de cinq jours pour les corriger à défaut de quoi le recours ne serait pas pris en considération.
Le 29 octobre 2011, A.________ a recouru au Tribunal fédéral contre cette "décision".
Le Tribunal fédéral a déclaré à deux reprises manifestement irrecevables des recours analogues de A.________, au motif que l'invitation à corriger une écriture jugée inconvenante, pour peu qu'elle puisse être qualifiée de décision, avait un caractère incident et ne causait aucun préjudice irréparable à l'intéressé au sens de l'art. 93 al. 1 let. a LTF (arrêts 1B_391/2011 du 8 août 2011 et 1B_271/2011 du 6 juin 2011). Il n'en va pas différemment dans le cas particulier.
Cela étant, le recours doit être tenu pour abusif et écarté sans autre mesure d'instruction selon la procédure simplifiée prévue par l'art. 108 al. 1 let. c LTF. Le recourant, qui succombe, supportera les frais du présent arrêt (art. 65 al. 1 et 66 al. 1 LTF).
Par ces motifs, le Président prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.
2.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 300 fr. sont mis à la charge du recourant.
3.
Le présent arrêt est communiqué au recourant, à l'Office régional du Ministère public du Bas-Valais et au Juge unique de la Chambre pénale du Tribunal cantonal du canton du Valais.

Whether the order granting five days to correct an offensive appeal brief was immediately appealable to the Federal Supreme Court
The order was, at most, an incidental decision and caused no irreparable prejudice, so the appeal was not admissible.
The Court relied on its prior case law holding that such an invitation to amend an offensive filing does not satisfy the requirement of irreparable harm under Art. 93(1)(a) LTF.
